Thinking about Peter in the bible.

Remember the first time he met Jesus?

Peter had just came in from fishing and caught nothing. Just imagine Peter where he was at in life he had heard all these prophets and they would tell him things would get better but he wanted to see the miracle now. He had nets he had boats and this is what he knew.

We all like the comfortable we all like familiar. We all have nets that hold us back from serving God, it might be past failures, past sins that haunt us, the job we make too much money to leave. Whatever the nets might be we need to lay them down and follow Jesus.

Jesus said to Peter…

Throw your nets on the right side of the boat and you will catch some.’ When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. John 21:6.

Sounded crazy to Peter but he did it. And see look what happened? Peter, though a rough man that spoke how he felt, was used mightily by God.

Then Peter said…

See, we have left all, and followed you. And he said to them, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. Luke 18:28-30

So in the present time is now!!! Lay down your nets and follow Jesus and he will make you a fisher of men. Laying down any nets that hinder my walk with God.
